Kallvest specializes in various types of industrial sites, including mines, manufacturing plants, logistic yards and distribution centres. These sites require extremely strict control and careful observation.

Access control on most these sites is carefully executed by means of an android operated device. This device records all vehicle and drivers license information and includes checklist information required such as number of passengers in and out, loads on trucks, stolen vehicles and much more, depending on the site requirement.

We have since the beginning of the pandemic added temperature and covid-19 symptom checklists to these devices. These devices are fully POPI compliant as all the information is privileged and stored on a secure server.

Patrols on industrial sites are conducted in a similar fashion as on any other site, with the only difference is that since the risk as well and health and safety requirements on these sites are slightly more complicated. Our patrol device is customized to include various checklists at each checkpoint to ensure there are no irregularities at risk areas.

Another common operating procedure on industrial sites is the enforcement of a “no-gun policy”.

At access control points, security officers will ensure that the visitor is not carrying a firearm, whether it be for self-defense or work, and if the visitor is in possession of a firearm, the firearm gets checked in and locked in a double lock system safe of which the firearm competent officer as well as the owner of the firearm has a key. All information of the firearm is recorded, for instance serial number, make, number of rounds in the magazine, time in and time out.
