7 THINGS MOST BUSINESSES FORGET TO CLEAN

Most facility managers remember to wipe down desktops, dust, vacuum and clean the bathrooms. But there are inevitably several areas around the workplace that get overlooked, leaving a bad impression for customers and visitors.

Here are the top 7 things you probably forgot to clean in the office:

  • Furniture and upholstery – Stained and dingy furniture could benefit from a good steam cleaning from time to time.
  • Plants and Foliage – Don’t let cobwebs build up on your greenery. Remove dead or dying leaves on a regular basis to keep your plans looking healthy and fresh.
  • Door knobs and switch plates – These are one of the most commonly touched items in a workplace, they need to be wiped down regularly.
  • Blinds – Blinds collect dust pretty easily making them look dulled. Cleaning blinds might be a tedious exercise, but bear in mind, the longer you wait to clean them, the harder they are to clean
  • Light fixtures – These fixtures commonly accumulate dust and dead bugs that dulls their shine.
  • Picture frames – Grimy film or fingerprints need to be wiped. Run a cloth across the top of picture frames to remove the dust.
  • Behind printers and copy machines – Clean behind and under these machines.  Further, smudges on the glass also need to be wiper or else they will leave your copies looking unprofessional.
