Most facility managers remember to wipe down desktops, dust, vacuum and clean the bathrooms. But there are inevitably several areas around the workplace that get overlooked, leaving a bad impression for customers and visitors.
Here are the top 7 things you probably forgot to clean in the office:
- Furniture and upholstery – Stained and dingy furniture could benefit from a good steam cleaning from time to time.
- Plants and Foliage – Don’t let cobwebs build up on your greenery. Remove dead or dying leaves on a regular basis to keep your plans looking healthy and fresh.
- Door knobs and switch plates – These are one of the most commonly touched items in a workplace, they need to be wiped down regularly.
- Blinds – Blinds collect dust pretty easily making them look dulled. Cleaning blinds might be a tedious exercise, but bear in mind, the longer you wait to clean them, the harder they are to clean
- Light fixtures – These fixtures commonly accumulate dust and dead bugs that dulls their shine.
- Picture frames – Grimy film or fingerprints need to be wiped. Run a cloth across the top of picture frames to remove the dust.
- Behind printers and copy machines – Clean behind and under these machines. Further, smudges on the glass also need to be wiper or else they will leave your copies looking unprofessional.
